Another day, another premise failed to adhere to the government’s SOPs during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period.
This time, a total of 68 people at a bar in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar, have been compounded RM1,000 each for violating the RMCO rule over the weekend.
According to Brickfields OCPD, Asst. Comm. Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin @ Hilmi, the compounds were issued at 10:24pm on Saturday (3rd October). In a statement released to the press, all 68 individuals were caught for not complying to the physical distancing rule. 65 visitors of the pub were compounded during the raid. The other 3 individuals were the outlet manager and its employees.
That’s not all! It was also reported that the premise didn’t have a valid business license and even failed to register their patrons. Asst. Comm. Zairulnizam then proceeded to urge owners of pubs and bars to adhere to the RMCO. To quote the police official, “Failure to do so will result in stern action.”
With the massive increase of Covid-19 cases in our country over the past few days, we believe it is best for everyone to play their role by social distancing and also avoiding large crowds.
