Oh no 🙁

After a mother of two and a 15-year-old boy allegedly took their own lives following the death of Chester Bennington, yet another Linkin Park fan has committed suicide.

Chester Bennington was found dead on 20th July 2017 at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles, which law enforcement officials confirmed was the rock star’s home. His death was later confirmed by a Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner spokesperson, who said that the singer hanged himself in his bedroom.

The deceased fan comes from Deleware and goes by the name of Melissa Mintz on Facebok. On 15th July 2017, just 5 days before Chester took his own life, Melissa commented on a Linkin Park Facebook post saying, “hi. Hate to bother you. Im in a dark place. Suicidal of sorts (no ploy or lie). The ONLY thing thats keeping me alive is your show in NJ on 8/1. IT would mean life or death if you could find it in your heart to give me an autograph or to meet you. Im living for you and its urgent.”

As seen in the screenshot above, several Linkin Park fans replied after her comment pleading for her to not do it. Unfortunately, it was all in vain.

Shortly after Chester’s death, Melissa’s brother shared the tragic news of Melissa’s passing. He wrote, “It is with great sorrow that we inform you that my sister Melissa has unexpectedly passed away. We hope that she has now found the peace & happiness that she so well deserved. She will always be in our hearts forever. Here is a toast to you. May her memory be a blessing.”

Meanwhile, Chester Bennington was laid to rest over the weekend near his home in Palos Verdes at the South Coast Botanical Garden. His family and closest friends gathered for the private funeral service, and many of those in attendances were musicians who’d played or toured with Chester and Linkin Park throughout the years. As seen in the picture above, a full stage, including a drum kit, was set up for musical tributes to be performed.

And in a bittersweet yet fitting touch, those who attended the funeral were given wristbands and tickets that were designed to look like VIP concert passes.
