Taiwanese model and influencer Maze Lin (林嘉凌), also known as Qiang Qiang (薔薔), is no stranger to sharing entertaining anecdotes about her personal life, like how she got arrested in Singapore for dressing too provocatively. However, her recent sharing about her family has shed some light on the public figure’s complicated past.
Maze recently appeared on the Taiwanese talk show “Lady Go (单身行不行)” to share the complex story about her birth and why she says she has three mothers. According to the model, she was an illegitimate child, born as a result of an affair between her father and her biological mother. She added her father’s wife eventually knew about the affair, which caused her a lot of emotional pain.
Initially, Maze’s biological mother wanted to put her husband’s name as the father on the birth certificate, which led to a conflict with her father. As a result, her father paid TWD2 million (approximately RM270,000) to have the hospital forge a birth certificate with his and his wife’s names as Maze’s parents. Despite that, the influencer’s father placed her in a separate home after she was born, so she never lived at her own home until she was two years old.
Unfortunately, even after returning home, Maze’s relationship with her father’s wife never recovered because her “mother” would act coldly towards her, given her history. The model also admitted that she never knew the truth of her birth until her “mother” yelled at her, saying, “You are not my child. You are someone else’s child!”. Maze said her father and her “mother” eventually separated, and her father remarried with her stepmother.
Thankfully, Maze’s relationship with her stepmother was a lot more positive. The model said her stepmother was the first proper maternal figure she had, and she would help her study and even teach her how to dress up. Maze said she was so grateful for the love and care she received from her stepmother that she eventually changed the details on her identification card and listed her stepmother as her mother.
