Knowing her medical history, fans have always been concerned about 2NE1 member Park Bom (박봄), yet they continue to support and cheer her on during performances. Compared to her bandmates, the idol often appears to tire halfway through a concert, but she still gives her all to deliver an unforgettable show for her fans.
Sadly, she hasn’t been active lately, as she’s been absent from recent group activities to focus on her health. However, there may be another reason why she’s been on hiatus after news broke out that she’s suing the CEO of YG Entertainment. Here’s the story:

On Wednesday (22nd October), Park Bom took to Instagram to announce that she plans to take legal action against YG Entertainment CEO Yang Min-suk for alleged fraud and embezzlement. In her police report, the singer claimed that the executive had failed to pay her rightful earnings over an extended period and that she is suing him for KRW 1,002,003,004,006,007,001,000,034 (approximately RM2.9 septillion).
“This caused severe financial loss and mental distress to the complainant, constituting clear acts of fraud and embezzlement,” the statement read. The shocking post has since drawn mixed reactions from fans. Many expressed support for the idol’s decision to seek justice and speculated that this issue may be one of the main reasons she has not taken part in recent group activities. Others, however, voiced concern for her mental health, saying that the amount she’s suing the label for is unrealistic and advising her to censor sensitive information in the report to avoid further complications.

Park Bom’s agency, D-Nation Entertainment, reportedly reached out to Korean media to address the concerning lawsuit, saying, “Park Bom is someone that we cannot control either. We are looking into [the lawsuit against Yang Hyun Suk].” The company then issued an official statement earlier today (Thursday, 23rd October) clarifying that all issues with YG Entertainment have been settled.
“The settlement related to Park Bom’s activities with 2NE1 has already been completed, and the lawsuit document uploaded to [social media] has not been filed. Park Bom has suspended all activities to focus on treatment and recovery. We will do our utmost to help the artist regain her health,” the statement reads. At the time of writing, Park Bom has yet to personally address the alleged lawsuit. Her bandmates have also not issued any response regarding concerns for the singer’s well-being.
