A clear sign of someone enjoying their stay in a country is them bringing back a keepsake. Many K-pop idols have visited Malaysia for work and travel. Some of these idols even expressed how much they loved their stay by showing off the souvenirs they got. From INFINITE’s Sungjong using a KLCC magnet to 2NE1’s Sandara Park showing off her Malaysia-inspired tee, here are five times a K-pop idol flaunting their Malaysian souvenirs.
INFINITE Sungjong (인피니트 성종)

INFINITE made their long-awaited return to Malaysia, recently performing at Mega Star Arena on 22nd February 2025. However, it seems the members returned to South Korea with a piece of KL. Recently, member Woohyun shared a glimpse of groupmate Sungjong’s fridge, revealing that the idol uses a KLCC fridge magnet. Malaysian INSPIRITs got even more excited when Woohyun updated that the same magnet holds up a group photo.
2NE1 Sandara Park (투애니원 박산다라)

When 2NE1 member Sandara Park visited KL in January 2025, she made a custom Nike t-shirt featuring artworks of some iconic Malaysian treats – nasi lemak and teh tarik. The t-shirt, now nicknamed “Nike Lemak”, instantly went viral amongst locals, and many rushed to the Nike store at Pavilion Bukit Bintang to recreate their own “Nike Lemak” tee. Malaysian BLACKJACKs even thanked the idol for promoting Malaysian culture.
82MAJOR Seongil (82메이저/에이티투메이저 조성일)

Last February, 82MAJOR held their first Malaysian fan-meeting at SEGi University in Kota Damansara. While in town, leader Seongil got himself a sarong, locally known as kain pelikat. The idol then fashioned the cloth into his outfit for the group’s many press interviews. According to Seong-Il, he bought the kain pelikat to wear something traditional to experience the local culture.
TWICE (트와이스)

In 2018, TWICE had to cancel their highly-anticipated debut concert in Malaysia at the last minute due to safety issues. The news devastated local ONCEs, but they still headed to KLIA to send the girls back to Seoul. However, their hearts were warmed when the members appeared wearing Malaysian batik. The group also shared a video promising to return. A year later, TWICE kept their promise and performed at Axiata Arena.
ATEEZ Yunho, San & Hongjoong (에이티즈 윤호, 산 & 홍중)

Unfortunately, even after years of waiting and a dedicated local fanbase, ATEEZ has yet to perform in Malaysia. However, a fan previously brought a piece of Malaysia to them. During the group’s fansign event in Seoul last December, a fan gifted the members a few sets of Baju Melayu. Yunho, San and Hongjoong immediately put on the traditional garment, resulting in Malaysian ATINYs going crazy over their dashing good looks.
