From the small screens to live on stage! It was a thrill to watch six of the current Running Man cast members returning to entertain fans in Kuala Lumpur, with five of them being part of the original lineup since 2010.
Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, and Yang Se-chan took to the stage at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre, bringing the same chaotic energy they’re known for on TV. Here are some of our favourite moments from the RUN 2 U fan meet event:

The Running Man members opened the show with a special performance of BTS’ 2017 hit “Spring Day”. Fans went wild as each member appeared on stage, one by one. After the official introduction, the cast returned to the stage in sports attire to play some very amusing games such as Pot Man and Cosplay Running Man.
During the first game, two lucky fans, out of 5,000 from the audience were invited onto the stage and were given the chance to compete against Jong-kook. Regardless of the outcome, meeting the cast members up close and personal was definitely a win for them. The second game was one of the most hilarious moments of the night as the cast was split into two teams of three.
Each member had to quickly change into a mystery costume prepared by the production team and complete a specific task, some of which involved taking selfies with the audience or giving out exclusive signed merchandise. The atmosphere was chaotic as fans cheered and laughed their hearts out for their chosen teams.

Another favourite moment was when the winners of the Running Man cosplay contest had the chance to meet the cast onstage while dressed as their favourite members. After the enjoyable intermission, which featured members of the audience dancing to popular K-pop songs, the Running Man cast took turns performing solo and pair units, delivering fan-favourite songs.
One of the standout performances was, of course, when Jong-kook serenaded the crowd with his ballad “One Man”, reminding everyone just how an amazing vocalist he is. During the pair unit performances, fans went wild when Ji-hyo and Jong-kook performed a duet, portraying a loving couple as they held hands and playfully teased each other.

Possibly the most unexpected moment of the RUN 2 U fan meet event was when the cast performed their rendition of Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT”, with Jongkook cosplaying as the BLACKPINK member. This, of course, had the crowd singing and dancing along with the Running Man members, because who could resist this earworm of a song?
After a series of energetic and chaotic performances, everyone gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” to Jee Seok-jin before a special fan video was played on the main screen. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, but not before the Running Man cast members performed the final few songs while also taking selfies with and signing merchandise for fans in the audience.
How we wished the night would last, but we were not disappointed by everything Running Man had prepared for the fans. We hope to see them visit Malaysia again for another fan meet event.
