Local influencer Ammar Nazhan, unfortunately, does not have the best reputation. The content creator was previously accused of living with his girlfriend and of disrespecting his neighbours among other things. Most recently, he went viral once again after reporting that one of his friends had gone missing in a forest in Bandung, Indonesia.
With the help of rapper Caprice, the influencer was exposed for having staged the tragic incident. The story then blew up, with many condemning his actions. Actor-director Michael Ang also had something to say about the issue.

Earlier today (Friday, 7th February), Michael Ang took to Instagram to express his disapproval and frustration over Ammar Nazhan’s behaviour. In the post, the producer called out the influencer for creating a hoax simply for content. “I hope the officers in Indonesia shove you in jail. For the Malaysian government, please arrest them as soon as they return. They brought shame to our country!” he wrote.
In his caption, the 54-year-old suggested that the influencer and his friends be banished to Jerjak Island, formerly the main leper asylum for the Straits Settlements, as punishment for their actions. “Are his parents aware of what he’s done? I think it’s time for the Communication Ministry to take action against those who create these hoaxes! Idiots!” he added. As expected, many responded to Michael’s posts saying that they share the same sentiment.

Netizens agreed that Ammar Nazhan should face severe consequences for the hoax. Others were less forgiving, suggesting that he and his friends should be exiled from the country. As for the YouTuber himself, he continues to insist that his content was not staged. In an interview with mStar, he said that people should not bring up past controversial events when making assumptions about him and that there is not much he can do to convince everyone that the incident in Indonesia really happened.
