Recently, a local financial consulting firm was suspected of orchestrating a personal loan fraud syndicate. It was reported that the company had achieved this by manipulating the turnaround time during the loan application approval process with banks.
Furthermore, according to investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) through special operation Ops Sky, several local celebrities were accused of being involved in the syndicate. Rumours and speculation began to spread online about who these celebrities could be. Veteran singer Ziana Zain was rumoured to be one of the stars who would be summoned by the MACC to assist with the investigations. Here’s what she had to say:

Following the “One in a Million” semi-final concert over the weekend, Ziana Zain, who serves as a judge on the show, was asked to clarify reports that she would soon be summoned by the MACC regarding the Ops Sky loan fraud issue. While walking through the concert venue’s hallways backstage, the singer simply said, “No comment. I just sing, dear.”
The 56-year-old also added that she understood and acknowledged the media seeking clarification on the matter, as there had been several reports that celebrities were being summoned by the MACC to assist with the investigation. One of those confirmed celebrities is actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, who has previously produced videos to promote the accused company. He admitted to accepting the role as ambassador but was unaware of what went on behind the scenes.

“When this issue surfaced, I was quite shocked. The MACC has yet to contact me, but if they do, I will cooperate fully,” he told reporters. According to Sinar Harian, a source claimed that the famous individuals were paid a large sum of money, allegedly up to RM400,000, to act as ambassadors for the accused company and promote their services. Aside from Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, no other celebrities have been confirmed to be linked to the financial consulting company.
