More than 10 years have passed, but the victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 continue to be in the hearts and prayers of Malaysians. However, singer Shila Amzah recently revealed she could’ve been one of the many unfortunate passengers on the ill-fated flight.
The singer recently appeared on the “Ubai Sentral” podcast, hosted by her husband Ubai Mz. During the episode, Shila spoke about her experiences as a singer, performing in foreign countries like Kazakhstan and China. When talking about her experiences filming “I Am A Singer” in China, the singer revealed she was supposed to board the MH370 flight from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur on 9th March 2014.

The singer said the flight back to Malaysia would’ve been a red-eye, as with many KL-Beijing flights. Shila also revealed that she had boarded the aircraft many times while filming in China, as it was a regularly used aircraft between the two countries. However, the singer said she, her manager, and her makeup artist decided to reschedule their flight because they were exhausted from their schedules.
Unfortunately, the MH370 flight disappeared from the radar on 8th March 2014 while en route from KLIA to the Beijing Capital International Airport. The case would now become one of the biggest mysteries in aviation history. Shila said she was shocked when she saw the news, especially since she and her team were supposed to board the same flight once it landed in Beijing.

However, the case became a sensitive issue for both Malaysia and China and remains so. As the majority of the victims were Chinese citizens, Shila said she and other Malaysians received a lot of hate on Chinese social media following the incident. Thankfully, the star’s Chinese fans defended her, saying the singer had nothing to do with the ill-fated flight.
Shila said she’s still traumatised by the experience, but it’s hard to fathom how she truly felt knowing that she could’ve been a victim. Meanwhile, both the singer and her husband said they’ll continue to pray for the victims of MH370 and for the truth of the incident to come to light.
