Last year, Malaysian singer Elyn Leong made her country proud by winning fifth place in the “Chuang Asia” survival competition. She has since made her debut in the Thailand-based nine-member girl group Gen1es. For 2025, “Chuang Asia” announced their second season, featuring a lineup of male trainees vying for the coveted spot in the final group.
“Chuang Asia” has also revealed the profile of all the trainees competing in this season, including five aspiring idols from Malaysia. These individuals will compete with trainees from other countries like South Korea, China, Japan and more to earn one of nine spots in the debuting group. Without ado, let’s meet the Malaysian trainees who will compete in “Chuang Asia” Season 2:

Alton Ang (洪麒越)

- Age: 24 years old

- Fun Facts: He’s an award-winning Wushu athlete who has represented Malaysia. He has also attended events for luxury brands, including Prada Beauty and Louis Vuitton.

Hong Jin

- Speciality: Singing, Song-writing
- Fun Facts: He also goes by the stage name Hoji. He’s been writing music since he was 14 and has released many self-written songs, including a digital EP titled “SAGA”

Jackson (黄嘉亨)

- Fun Facts: He’s also an award-winning Wushu athlete who has represented Malaysia in competitions. He also enjoys swimming and other outdoor activities.

Sunny (叶競謙)

- Fun Facts: He’s part of the Malaysian K-pop cover group Prince DC. A TikTok video of him covering Stray Kids went viral, reaching over 1 million views.

The first episode of “Chuang Asia Season 2” will air on 2nd February 2025 (Sunday) on WeTV. Thai singer Jeff Satur, Thai actress Yaya Urassaya and Chinese singer Tia Ray will be the show’s mentors.
