The Pahang royal family are known to be quite the fun bunch. Even during his time as Malaysia’s Agong, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was not shy about letting loose every once in a while, especially when he was with his wife, Tunku Azizah, at a lively event. Even their children have shown their more casual side from time to time.
With this in mind, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see the Pahang Royal Family enjoying themselves when they’re out and about. However, many were not expecting to see the Sultan or his son, Tengku Hassanal, racing each other on a children’s go-kart ride. Watch:
A TikTok video posted by user @/hps_26 over the weekend has since gone viral across social media. The footage showed the Pahang Prince driving a children’s go-kart, with a group of children following behind him. Shortly after they passed the checkpoint, His Royal Highness Sultan Abdullah was also seen driving the small vehicle before his son caught up with him.
Although it was not specified in the TikTok post, based on the interior design, the location the Pahang Royals visited appears to be the Jungle Gym at Bangsar Shopping Centre. The video caught the attention of Malaysians, who were surprised to see members of a royal family enjoying themselves at a children’s play area. Some expressed their fondness for the idea that the Sultan and the Prince were channelling their inner child.
Others found the video adorable, seeing the father-and-son duo spending time together riding children’s go-karts. A few joked that this is probably what the men of the royal family would be up to if Tunku Azizah weren’t around. As for who the children in the video were, it can be assumed that they were probably relatives. It is unknown what the occasion was for Sultan Abdullah and Tengku Hassanal to visit the Jungle Gym but regardless, it’s clear that they had a fun time while they were there.
