Salam, Taiwan! We recently embarked on a trip with the Taiwan Tourism Administration Office and had an unforgettable experience. This enjoyable journey focused primarily on Muslim-friendly destinations in Taiwan. In this listicle, we’ll cover some of our favourite spots that are perfect for our Muslim readers to explore.

Whether you’re in the mood for rice dishes, noodles, desserts, beverages, or Western cuisine, there’s something on this list to tantalise your taste buds. Here are our recommendations for places in Taiwan that cater to our Muslim readers:

1. Barefoot Elf Restaurant

Despite its name, you don’t actually have to walk barefoot in this establishment. The Barefoot Elf Restaurant is a charming Mediterranean-style eatery located in Changhua County. It features an outdoor viewing platform where diners can enjoy their meals while taking in the stunning views of the Changhua Plain. As for our favourite dish, we highly recommend the Thai-style Spicy and Tangy Pepper Chicken.

Address: No.1-1,Bagua Rd, Nantou City, Nantou County Taiwán

Opening Hours: 10am – 8pm (Monday – Friday), 9:30am – 9pm (Weekends)

2. Cona’s Chococastle

This one is for those with a sweet tooth! Cona’s Chococastle is just as magical inside as it appears from the outside. Not only does it offer a variety of delicious desserts, from chocolate to ice cream, but you can also decorate your own chocolate by joining a DIY session. If you’re a fan of cute animals, there’s a pen outside where you can meet the ducks and capybaras!

Address: No. 32號, Taomi Rd, Puli Township, Nantou County, Taiwan

Opening Hours: 10am – 5:30pm (Daily)

3. 50嵐 (50 Lan)

Our first taste of Taiwan’s boba tea. 50 Lan started back in 1994 as a humble beverage and fruit juice stall and has now become one of the most popular tea brands in the country. You simply cannot leave Taiwan without a taste of the drinks in any of the outlets there.

Address: No. 3號, Lane 12, Nanjing W Rd, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan

Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm (Daily)

4. Xing Fu Tang

One of the first stores we stopped by during our visit to the iconic Ximending was the Xing Fu Tang store. Their famous Brown Sugar Boba Milk drink was to die for that we had to come back the second time the next day. Surprisingly, although the queue was long, the service was top-notch and fast! You’ll get your drink in no time.

Address: No. 101號, Hanzhong St, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan

Opening Hours: 8:30am – 12:30am (Daily)

5. Mouna Halal Restaurant

Who doesn’t love a good Arabic meal? Mouna Restaurant in Taipei is owned by Moroccan native Mouna Elayachi, who has been residing in Taiwan for the past 22 years. Offering Halal-certified Moroccan cuisine, Mouna’s warm hospitality and personal touch ensure that every visitor feels at home.

Address: No. 252, Yanping S Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan

Opening Hours: 11am – 2:30pm, 5pm – 9pm (Tuesday to Sunday)

6. Vigor Kobo

Vigor Kobo is a halal-certified bakery specialising in souvenir pastries. In 2006, it won the first prize for the most popular pineapple cake at the Taipei City Government Pineapple Cake Festival. With a wide variety of classic pastries to choose from, you can enjoy the rich, fragrant, and natural crust without any additives.

Address: 108, Taiwan, Taipei City, Wanhua District, Chengdu Rd, 3號1 樓

Opening Hours: 10am – 9:30pm (Daily)

7. Chang’s Beef Noodles Shop

Located in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei City, Chang’s Beef Noodles Shop offers a selection of mouth-watering authentic Chinese dishes. One feature that sets this establishment apart is that the menu is available in three languages: Chinese, English, and Japanese, so there’s no need to worry about a language barrier. If you’re looking for a taste of Taiwan, this is definitely one of the places you should visit.

Address: No. 21號, Yanping S Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan

Opening Hours: 10am – 7:30pm (Daily)

8. Fried Chicken Master

Taiwan’s leading Halal fried chicken chain. Fried Chicken Master is the place for you to go if you’re craving some fast food. The outlet we visited was in a Carrefour Supermarket in Taipei. The service was fast and efficient and we got to enjoy a delicious meal on our final night in Taiwan.

Address: No. 1, Guilin Road, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan

Opening Hours: 10:30am – 9pm (Daily)

Check our video of us enjoying the food at the places on this list and more:
