On 26th October 2024 (Saturday), Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou (周杰伦) performed for over 60,000 fans at his sold-out “Carnival World Tour” concert at Bukit Jalil National Stadium. Besides incredible performances and high energy levels, the concert also saw several surprising moments – including a birth!
A XiaoHongShu user who attended the concert revealed that a female fan gave birth to her baby while waiting outside the concert venue. The woman reportedly went into labour while at the venue. She then called for an ambulance to take her to the hospital, but delivered her child just as the ambulance arrived. Her birth prompted cheers from the crowd of fans outside the stadium.
Online, the unexpected incident received mixed reactions, with many criticising the mother for being irresponsible. Many netizens said the woman shouldn’t have attended the concert if she knew she was about to give birth as it poses many risks. However, others joked about the situation, quipping that her unborn child attended a Jay Chou concert before many of his fans. It’s worth noting that local entrepreneur Beautrice Mok also went to the concert while heavily pregnant.
Many other celebrities attended the concert, including local influencer Phei Yong (培永). The star even shared a video of him shaking hands with Jay Chou during the show – but netizens were more focused on the woman beside him. According to reports, Phei Yong appeared on the stage LED screens, sitting next to a woman in a black top. However, when the 30-year-old shared a photo on his Instagram, he was seated between his sister and a friend.
Netizens began questioning the woman’s identity, suspecting it was Phei Yong’s girlfriend. Many also bombarded his Instagram account, asking about the woman. Several of the influencer’s friends also poked fun at him, commenting about the mystery woman. Sadly, the public figure has yet to address the lady in black, seemingly ignoring the teasing and jokes.
