However, during the filming, Eva revealed that her marriage with the Chinese media mogul isn’t as perfect as it seems. The actress admitted that she and her husband often fight behind closed doors, adding that she felt trapped in the relationship. Shockingly, the star also revealed that she wanted to divorce her partner of 17 years.
However, Eva said she can’t seek a divorce because of her responsibility to her two children. She also cites financial dependence as her reason for not being able to separate from her husband. After her surprising revelation, netizens sympathised with the 41-year-old, hoping she would soon find happiness. Others also brought up previous instances where Eva and Yang Zi seemed distant or that the businessman seemed controlling of his wife.
On the other hand, many netizens also questioned the motivation of the couple’s appearance on the show. Many wondered if the couple purposely spoke about divorce to gain clout for their business. It’s worth noting this isn’t the first time they voiced their relationship problems. A few years ago, the two public figures posted cryptic messages on Weibo that many interpreted as marital issues.
