Warner Music Malaysia is set to ignite a new chapter for live music at the iconic Stadium Merdeka as a concert venue with the announcement of its “Futureland” Festival, scheduled to take place on 23rd November 2024, with health and beauty retailer Watsons Malaysia coming onboard as the title sponsor as part of the celebrations of its 30th anniversary in the country. This all-day extravaganza will showcase a stellar lineup of some of the hottest and most talented local musicians, groups, and bands nationwide.

Yang Berhormat Puan Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Communications Malaysia, graced the press conference to show her support for the upcoming “Futureland” Festival.

“Futureland” Festival celebrates the future of Malaysian music by highlighting the creativity of our local artists and providing them with a platform to shine and connect with fans. The festival will showcase both renowned and emerging talent, including Hujan, Bunkface, Kugiran Masdo, Aina Abdul, Ayda Jebat, Syamel, Tuju, Zynakal, Fimie Don, Amsyar Lee, Rizal Rasid, Empty Page, Fugo, and many more.

In addition to the music performances, the festival will feature the Watsons Glow Up Zone, including various beauty and health areas from Watsons Malaysia. Attendees can look forward to exciting freebies, samples, and interactive experiences. To further enhance the excitement, the festival will also host a food village, along with street activities such as pop up stores, communal graffiti painting, and more.

Stadium Merdeka holds a significant place in Malaysia’s history, serving as the site where our first Prime Minister declared independence. This iconic venue has hosted numerous global and regional superstars, making it a cornerstone of the Malaysian music landscape. After undergoing a meticulous restoration process and upgrading of its amenities while retaining its historical charm in April 2019, Stadium Merdeka reopened its doors on 17th August 2024. With its rich heritage and revitalised infrastructure, it promises to be the perfect backdrop for unforgettable live performances at the “Futureland” Festival.

We are proud to host the first music event at this historic venue after its refurbishment. It will offer a unique musical experience that honours our history while paving the way for the future of Malaysian music. We are delighted to partner with Watsons Malaysia for this thrilling festival.
