If it’s your first time at an unfamiliar train station, it’s understandable to accidentally end up on the wrong platform while waiting for the train. If that happens, the most logical course of action is to go back down the stairs or lift and walk to the opposite platform.
Much to everyone’s horror, a man decided to take a shortcut and went down onto the tracks instead. Earlier this week, a netizen on Xiaohongshu, known as manchys 大马生活, posted a video of a man climbing up from the train tracks to the platform on the opposite side.

As seen in the video below, a man dressed in white, believed to be a foreigner, was spotted jumping off the tracks and dangerously climbing up to the platform while the screen doors were still open. Passengers on the other side nervously watched the ordeal, with some ready to help the daredevil if he lost his balance. According to several reports, the incident occurred at Bukit Bintang Monorail Station.
“I didn’t expect to witness something like this today. He jumped from one platform to the other, and the entire line stopped operating,” the uploader wrote in the caption. Eyewitnesses reported that a train was arriving as the man crossed to the other side, adding to the suspense of the situation, which could have ended horrifically. Some speculated that the unnamed individual acted so recklessly because he was fleeing from security officers after stealing something. Others expressed concern over the faulty screen doors.

“I didn’t dare to record the whole thing ’cause I was afraid it might turn gruesome,” the witness replied to a comment. Thankfully, no one was hurt but he did cause a lot of inconvenience to the other passengers. After the post went viral, local authorities managed to track down and arrest the suspect. However, the identity of the man and the reason for his actions has not been disclosed. The case is currently being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code (Trespass).
