For those who frequently travel, you would know that everyone has to go through security checks at the airport and staff would have to scan your boarding pass before allowing you to board the plane. Somehow, this strange woman managed to board a flight without having anything on her, including a ticket. How and why did she do it?
Over the weekend, a Chinese travel blogger who goes by Zhu shared an incident that took place on 29th August at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). According to the content creator, her Xiamen Airlines flight back to China was delayed for 4 hours due to a passenger boarding the plane without a ticket.

The blogger recalled that after finding her seat, she noticed a woman walking around the aircraft, causing inconvenience to other passengers who were trying to get to their seats and place their belongings in the overhead compartment. Assuming that she had trouble finding her seat, a flight attendant asked the passenger to show them her boarding pass so they could assist her.
Much to their surprise and confusion, the woman claimed that she did not possess a ticket for the specific flight and thus had no assigned seat. “A few moments later, there was an announcement asking all passengers to disembark the plane and return to the terminal as they needed to do security checks for safety. Everyone was upset, of course, and asked what was going on,” the blogger wrote. She claimed that the airline staff had to re-check everyone’s boarding passes in alphabetical order before letting them through the gates again.
As for the alleged hitchhiker, she was taken by KLIA security for questioning. “She didn’t have a bag on her as well. I’m curious to know how she managed to get past security. We all had to present our tickets to the staff before boarding the plane so how did she get in? What was her purpose to board the flight?” questioned the travel writer. Zhu and the other passengers speculated that the mysterious woman may have been a passenger from the previous flight who did not exit the plane when it landed. Although plausible, the theory didn’t explain her motives for doing so.

Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident but it is unfortunate that the flight was delayed for a few hours. Sin Chew Daily reported that Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) is currently investigating this incident and has yet to give an update about the case.
