Earlier this month, it was reported that Dr Jezamin filed for divorce from her husband comedian Harith Iskander at the Federal Territories Syariah Lower Court. However, at the time, the reason for the separation was not disclosed, and neither was the entertainer commenting on the shocking news.
It was only very recently that the two former lovers decided to share more details about their impending divorce. The still-legally married couple sat down for an interview with The Rakyat Post over the weekend to discuss what had happened that led to the decision to go their separate ways.
Although Harith Iskander and Dr Jezamin are divorcing, the two parents-of-3 children looked very comfortable around each other as if everything is still normal. When asked by the host Daphne Iking, the 57-year-old comedian admitted that he, “screwed up” before adding, “In case people think this is an act, we didn’t get to this point immediately. There has been a long period where we couldn’t be like this.”
The celebrity couple denied rumours and speculations that there was any form of violent arguments, abuse or infidelity from either side that led to the difficult decision. However, they did not get into specific details of what actually happened between them apart from the stand-up performer taking the blame for the failed marriage.
“I’m a guy, I’m an idiot. I acted in ways I should not have. I’m not going to come up with any excuses. I have done stupid things that many men do and you would think I would know better at my age,” he explained. Despite his unspecified mistakes, Dr Jezamin assured her soon-to-be ex-husband that she had forgiven him. Of course, their children will remain their top priority with the two parents hoping that nothing will change in their daily routine after the divorce.
As for their work relationship, the CEO of Cell Biopetics Resources said that she will still be managing Harith’s career. Although the divorce was a mutual decision, going through it has never been easy for any loving couple. We wish Harith and Dr Jezamin nothing but the best in their new journey in life.
