Buckle up cause Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are gearing up for another dose of action. The iconic duo are back to reprise the roles of Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett respectively for the 4th instalment of their buddy cop action – “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die”.
Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (famed for helming Marvel’s Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel“), “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die” sees Will Smith and Martin Lawrence shooting their way through all sorts of antics. When our bad boys’ former boss, Captain Conrad Howard, being framed for drug-related crimes, it’s up to Mike and Marcus to clear his name.
During a recent promotion for “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die”, Will reflected on the franchise’s legacy, saying, “It’s a really rare situation to be able to still star in a franchise 30 years after the first one. Usually, at our age, you make a cameo while a pair of newer younger stars have taken over the reins. To still be at the centre of it, when this one is potentially the biggest one of all, is a real privilege.”
With that in mind, Will and co-star Martin made a deliberate effort to portray the struggles of ageing in this film. “I love that the spiritual awakening is at the centre of the film. That is really close to the ideas that Martin and I were thinking and the things we were experiencing in our real lives,” Will explained. “We then had to figure out how to turn that into character experiences.”
