Prank videos are not anything new but some content creators or public figures may have taken things too far. Yesterday (Monday, 20th May), content creator Hazrael posted 2 videos on his TikTok channel which he filmed at the McDonald’s outlet in Bukit Bintang.
According to the influencer, the aim of the prank was to see how customers reacted to someone disturbing them for buying food from a boycotted franchise. “Since they don’t want to boycott, so we’ll bother them,” he said in the video.

As seen in the screenshots above, the public figure kept tapping on a foreigner’s shoulder from behind when he tried to place his order. Although annoyed and uncomfortable, the man kept calm while trying to pay for his food. Eventually, he got fed up with the prankster and warned him saying, “If you touch me again, I’ll f**king knock you out”. Unfortunately, the prank didn’t end there as Hazrael can be seen doing the same thing to other people outside of the restaurant.
What the content creator probably didn’t expect was for the foreigner he bothered earlier to publicly accuse him of being a pickpocket. In the second video, the Caucasian man had the suspicion that the influencer was trying to steal from him, judging by how close he was and started to warn others in the restaurant to be wary of him. “Watch out for the pickpocket!” he said while pointing his finger at Hazrael.
As expected, the videos didn’t sit well with netizens. Many slammed the Hazrael for harassing people in public while others reminded him not to force people into boycotting as it is a personal choice at the end of the day. Some advised him that, although he may have good intentions, he should be more civilised when it comes to boycotting brands.

As seen in the screenshots above, it seems that the internet personality is not bothered by the negative attention as he showed no remorse in his replies and even shamelessly asked his followers for more prank/social experiment ideas. While he may have blanket his actions by calling it “an experiment”, others have called him out for causing public disturbance just for clicks and views.
