As Battle of The Reds 2024 makes its mark in Malaysia’s capital for the first time, the excitement beckons a momentous time for Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre all the same. The official supporting hotel for the historic event shared an afternoon with some of the legends of Manchester Reds and Liverpool Reds in an intimate Meet-and-Greet affair hosted at the hotel.
Featuring David May and Danny Webber of Manchester Reds, and John Durnin and Phil Babb of Liverpool Reds, the Meet-and-Greet event was a casual yet fun-filled occasion for the spectators present. George Varughese, Marriott International Multi Property Vice President – Putrajaya and Greater Kuala Lumpur, and Bipan Kapur, Complex General Manager – Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre, also graced the event with their presence to extend their warm welcome to the legendary players.
“We have marked another significant milestone as a brand and as a member of Marriott Bonvoy. It is truly an honour to be a part of this historic journey, and with two of the most decorated clubs in English Football no less. We are excited for their anticipated match this weekend, and to have the privilege to share our urban resort with these legendary players is no small feat, but certainly a memorable one,” Bipan expresses.
The talk of culture was the highlight during, with a special ‘Teh Tarik’ making experience taking place. Demonstrated by Chef Alan Wong, Complex Director of Culinary, it was nothing short of entertaining as the players have their go, alongside invited media friends, hotel guests, and social media giveaway winners. A humble spread of local teatime delicacies followed, before the event came to a close, for all to embrace the joys of ‘minum petang’ like Malaysians do.
Local fans were able to witness the legendary Manchester Reds versus Liverpool Reds The Battle of The Reds 2024 football match that took place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium over the weekend.
