Former DOLLA member Syasya shocked fans when she suddenly announced her withdrawal from the girl group earlier this April. As if that wasn’t surprising enough, the public figure then revealed she had gotten married – ushering another wave of comments from fans.
Following the news, many fans shared their congratulatory wishes for the former girl group member and her life partner. Some also said her husband needs to treat the star right, given that she sacrificed her career to marry him. However, some fans were disappointed Syasya had left the group during their peak to tie the knot. One group of fans in particular who had reservations about the marriage news were DOLLA’s Chinese fans.
A fan recently shared Syasya’s marriage news on the Chinese social media platform XiaoHongShu. The post quickly received lots of likes and over 300 comments. Unfortunately, some of these comments were from fans who reacted negatively about the 23-year-old’s marital status. Some comments began discussing why Syasya left the group to get married, even calling it a “self-sabotage” decision. Others were surprised to learn that the star had gotten married at a young age, which also led to a discussion of marriage in Islam.
Before Syasya’s withdrawal, the group had received tons of love from the Chinese community after their appearance on the music variety show “Show It All China”. Syasya also quickly became popular amongst fans in China. Due to this reason, it’s understandable that her sudden marriage announcement brought up some unhappy comments.
However, the negative comments still sparked criticism from local fans, who believed some of the comments were unwarranted. Many criticised those who left the comments, saying they should respect Syasya’s decision. Others condemned the fans for bringing up religion into the matter, saying they should be more understanding of people’s beliefs.
Regardless of what others say, all that matters is Syasya’s happiness. We hope these comments don’t dampen her spirits and that we can still see more of the star even after her marriage.
