Recently, Aliff Aziz and Ruhainies have been paying the consequences of their alleged khalwat scandal. Despite their explanation about what happened on the night they were taken into custody, netizens still accused them of lying after some pointed out the flaws in their official statements.
Due to the alleged impropriety, the actress has been blacklisted by a well-known producer for future projects. However, someone else, who is known to be controversial himself, decided to take advantage of the “Sorry Naik Lori” star’s ongoing issue to promote his brand.
A couple of days ago, Aliff Syukri posted a video of his collaboration with Ruhainies. The two were seen promoting the entrepreneur’s latest handbag collection with Aliff’s face being censored throughout the video which is probably a direct reference to beauty brand Kitsui pixilating the actress’s face in their latest Raya promo following the scandal.
The 31-year-old was not tagged in the IG post and apart from the face censoring, it can be assumed that the video itself was filmed sometime before the controversy surfaced. However, the timing of posting the video garnered a lot of backlash from netizens who suspected that it was intentional.
As seen in the comments below, many called for a boycott of Aliff Syukri’s brands and products while also calling him out for always relying on controversy and cheap publicity to promote his business. Others called him shameless for condoning or supporting immorality after featuring Ruhainies in his video despite her alleged involvement in her friend’s divorce.
At the time of writing, neither Aliff Syukri nor Ruhainies responded to the backlash. Since the former is known to use these sorts of tactics to promote his business, we can assume that he won’t be saying anything about the whole thing. Watch the full video below:
