Back in 2019, Taiwanese actress Joe Chen (陳喬恩) participated in the Chinese dating show ‘Meeting Mr Right 2’, where she met Malaysian artist Alan Chen (曾伟昌). The pair fell in love during the program and made it official soon after. Now, in 2024, the couple return to where it all began.
The two were recently in Malaysia to celebrate the Chinese New Year festivities with Alan’s family in Johor. While in the country, they decided to stop at Langkawi to visit the Sky Bridge. The popular tourist spot is also where the two filmed for the dating show in 2019, which marked the start of their romance. Joe and Alan shared photos of their visit to SkyBridge on their respective Instagram accounts.
However, the visit was more than a trip down memory lane since it was also to fulfil a promise the pair had made. In Joe’s Instagram post, the actress wrote, “In 2019, we said that if we were still together after a year, we would return to Sky Bridge where we fell in love to celebrate. But it turned out that we postponed it (the return) until 2024. When we came back, we are already married.”
After appearing on the show, the pair started dating before tying the knot in 2022. In the same post, Joe commented about the delay in returning to Sky Bridge, saying, “Plans can never keep up with changes. That makes life so interesting.”. Husband Alan also spoke fondly about the Sky Bridge, saying it’s the place where the two fell in love. Fans also celebrated Joe and Alan’s return to the Langkawi tourist spot, wishing the two lots of love and happiness for many more years.
The pair also shared photos from their lively CNY celebrations with Alan’s family on their socials. We guess it’s safe to say that this Malaysia trip has been very memorable for the two!
