K-pop fans will have much to look forward to in the coming months. 2 years ago, K-pop legendary group Super Junior (슈퍼주니어) had Malaysia fans thirsting for more, especially after two of their members took off their shirts during their concert at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur.
A year later, the group’s sub-unit Super Junior D&E dropped by and performed for fans at their concert at Mega Star Arena and of course, that too was not enough. Well, great news for Malaysian Elves! It was just announced that another member of the iconic boyband will be in town later this year.
Earlier today (Monday, 15th January), Kyuhyun (규현) shared a poster announcing his “Restart” tour on Instagram. As seen in the post above, the Super Junior member will be touring around Southeast Asia and yes, Malaysia is included on the list! Not many details were revealed but according to the poster, here are the dates and countries announced:
- Korea: 8th – 10th March
- Singapore: 30th March
- Hong Kong: 4th April
- Malaysia: 13th April
- Osaka, Japan: 23rd April
- Yokohama, Japan: 26th April
- Taiwan: 4th May
- Thailand: 11th May
- Indonesia: 18th May
As mentioned, details about the time and venue for the event in KL have yet to be shared but regardless, fans have already started showing their excitement on Twitter. The MyKpopHuntress page shared the news and even pointed out that the date of his show in KL is also the 4th day of Raya and included the hashtag “#LebaranbersamaKyuhyun”.
Many reacted to the news and the hashtag by replying how they plan to celebrate Eid Mubarak this year. Some joked that they’ll be wearing their Baju Raya to the concert while others wondered if they could ask the idol to sing a Raya song during his concert.
All these ideas aren’t bad and who knows? Maybe Kyuhyun himself will appear onstage in Baju Raya during his show. We can only hope so. Stay tuned for more details about his upcoming tour.
