A fairytale wedding like no other. Last week, Prince Mateen of Brunei and Dayang Anisha Rosnah Adam (Anisha Isa-Kalebic) officially married at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and since then, everyone has been looking forward to the royal wedding ceremony which took place yesterday (Sunday, 14th January) at the Istana Nurul Iman.
Apart from looking absolutely ethereal, one of the highlights of the wedding was when the young Prince said something to his bride, who was wearing a long white dress and jewels, which made hearts melt everywhere. Here’s what went down:

Videos of the royal couple sitting on the throne during their official wedding ceremony have been blowing up all over social media. At one point during the event, the Brunei Prince, dressed in ceremonial uniform, can be seen leaning towards his wife and whispering the words, “I love your dress,” to which Anisha responded with a smile while blushing at her husband’s compliment.
The lovely moment went viral with netizens congratulating the couple on their happy-ever-after. After the ceremony, the Prince and his Princess participated in the parade around Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan where the people of Brunei greeted them and celebrated their marriage. The newlyweds waved at thousands of citizens from the back of an open-top Rolls Royce.
Prince Mateen himself posted a highlight video of his and his wife’s wedding day on his personal Instagram with a caption that reads, “Thank you for celebrating with us on our special day. It means a lot to us. 🤍” For your information, 5,000 guests attended the Brunei Royal wedding which included which included Saudi and Jordanian royals, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines.
The celebration is not over yet, however, as there are still 2 more days left which are the Royal Dining ceremony today (Monday, 15 January) and the closing ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday, 16th January). What has been your favourite moment from the 10-day celebration so far?
