With the new year, comes the customary goodbye-to-2023 post on everyone’s socials. Mr. Nigel Ng (黄瑾瑜) or better known by his online persona, Uncle Roger, is no exception. But, unlike others, his post has garnered some excitement as he might have dropped hints about a budding relationship!
Uncle Roger is a much loved internet personality, and it’s no surprise that many are rooting for him and his happiness. Well, as he likes to keep his private life on the down-low, fans and friends were excited when they spotted him with a lady in his 2023 photo dump post.
On 2nd January, Uncle Roger uploaded a set of photos with the caption: “Chiang Mai dump. Last pic is how I feel about 2024. Happy new year.” As promised, the photos showed the internet celeb enjoying his time in Chiang Mai, from releasing sky lanterns to visiting tourist areas, and of course, plenty of food.
However, sharp-eyed netizens spotted someone by Uncle Roger’s side throughout his Chiang Mai trip. A certain lady appeared twice, both times with her face hidden and both times, holding Uncle Roger’s hand. Needless to say, netizens were quick to ask after her. “Is that our new aunty?” one queried, while others celebrated his relationship. “Finally, we have (a) new aunty,” another commented.
Still, some netizens were more concerned with Uncle Roger’s ‘old flame’, the infamous Auntie Helen, often mentioned in his standup comedy shows. “Nah that’s probably nephew Nigel’s gf, Uncle Roger still can’t move on from Auntie Hellen,” a netizen joked. But, one claimed that Uncle Roger has actually been seeing this lady for a while now. “Heh. If you guys listen to his podcast, you’d know this new auntie has been there for a while,” they shared.
Sometime last year, a netizens spotted Uncle Roger with a mysterious woman which then sparked speculations about his relationship status. However, Uncle Roger has allegedly not said much about his new flame, aside from stating his intentions to protect her privacy.
Well, it certainly doesn’t matter to netizens how long Uncle Roger has been in a relationship, they are simply glad he’s happy. It certainly is an intriguing start to the year 2024!
