Within one week of opening, many Malaysians have flooded to The Exchange TRX to check out all the available attractions – namely the outdoor playground at the TRX City Park. However, netizens have pointed out that parents have been misusing the park’s facilities, which led to some new rules from the TRX management.
Sharing through their Instagram page, The Exchange TRX reinstated some newly established rules for visitors of TRX City Park, particularly families visiting the playground. In the video, the mall detailed the park’s opening hours, the age limit for the playground and other guidelines for parents, in both Malay and English. They also included the full guidelines in the captions.

The rules came into place after a tweet about the park went viral, starting a debate about whether the park’s water zone is open to the public. The argument was that despite children being allowed to play at the park, parents should still monitor their children. Netizens specifically highlight the spiral interactive sensory zone, which TRX management has clarified is not for swimming. However, visitors reported that the same interactive feature had been broken within one week of opening and had to be closed for repairs.
Netizens have reacted to the newly enacted notice board, showing mixed responses. While some praise the mall for putting out clear guidelines for parents, many lament that irresponsible parents won’t follow the rules. Some comments also say parents should bring their children to proper water parks instead of letting their children vandalise a mall’s facilities. Others advised The Exchange TRX to add more security guards to the park to ensure parents abide by the rules.
What do you think about the new park rules? Will this stop families from misusing the TRX City Park facilities?
