Even before its opening, netizens have expressed concerns for the future of The Exchange TRX and TRX City Park, even calling for management to ban vendors from the area to maintain cleanliness. Now that the park has officially opened its doors to the public, were netizens right to be worried?
Last week, a video went viral on social media, depicting young children playing in the rooftop park’s water fountain area and its many facilities. However, the video received negative attention, as some netizens pointed out that some children were misusing the park’s facilities, specifically the spiral-shaped pool with built-in apparatus.

Twitter user @/facktura expressed their disappointment over the lack of care towards the park’s facilities, saying, “The place has been turned into a waterpark. I don’t believe the spiral thing is a place for children to soak in. Parents should just let their kids play in the designated area. I’m tired of seeing this.” Many netizens agreed with the user, sharing their disappointment towards parents for allowing their children to misuse TRX City Park’s facilities. Many also pointed out that the toys attached to the spiral pool may get broken if children continue to play inside the water area.
Many criticisms pointed at parents for allowing their children to treat the park’s water fountain as a play area. However, according to the official The Exchange TRX website, the fountain area was intended as a play zone for children. The website described the Water Play zone as an interactive and sensory zone that offers a perfect blend of education and entertainment.
Twitter user @/sueannajoe even reached out to the mall’s management on Instagram to get confirmation about the play zone. According to The Exchange TRX, children can play in the activity zone but are not encouraged to sit inside the spiral pool. The mall also mentioned that they are working on making it clear to visitors which zones children are allowed to play at.
While the mall’s management did provide clarification, many netizens pointed out that some parents wouldn’t follow the rules. One netizen shared that some parents would ignore their children when they abuse public property, even staying oblivious when their children break things. Another Twitter user pointed out that TRX City Park may face the same fate as Titiwangsa Lake Park, where some facilities have gotten damaged over time.
The Exchange TRX and the rooftop TRX City Park have yet to release proper guidelines on the park, so parents planning to take their children there should always supervise the children as they play.
