After years of anticipation, The Exchange TRX finally opened its doors to shoppers on 29th November – but does it live up to the hype? In a tweet by Anwar Ahmad, the user shared a sneak peek at the new The Exchange TRX mall in a video.
Some of the mall’s tenants include familiar names like Uniqlo, Muji, Vincci and H&M. The new shopping mall also boasts several exclusive tenants, like the high-end Japanese department store Seibu. Other tenants, like streetwear brand Undefeated and French-Japanese fashion label Maison Kitsune, would be making their debut in Malaysia through the mall.
The Exchange TRX start bukak secara rasmi esok guys.

Facebook page Malaysia Shopping Mall posted more photos of the mall’s interior, including the inside of Seibu and the mall’s other anchor tenant, supermarket chain Mercato. Funnily, the post also included a few photos of the restrooms inside The Exchange TRX, which seemed just as luxurious as the rest of the mall.
Both posts garnered attention from netizens, who all had a few things to say about the new mall. While it does boast a more luxurious look, many say The Exchange TRX looks the same as any other Klang Valley mall. Some commented that the brands in the mall are redundant because shoppers can find the stores in another mall within the same area. However, many have noted that The TRX Exchange looks more exclusive because of its posh decor. Many also showed excitement over the stores that will appear for the first time in Malaysia.
Some netizens also lament the potential traffic disruptions the new mall will cause. One Twitter user said it has already created a traffic jam in the surrounding area because of all the people heading to the mall for its opening. Despite this, netizens have also advised taking the TRX MRT to visit the mall instead of driving, adding shoppers can also save on parking fares.
What do you think about the new mall? Are netizens right about The Exchange TRX being “just another mall”? Or does the mall have the IT factor to win more customers?
