A few months ago, concert organiser Hello Universe’s CEO and founder Adam Ashraf Kingsman shared his experience in making the Muse concert a success while also hinting that he and his team will do whatever they can to bring another beloved band to Malaysia. The beloved band in question was My Chemical Romance (MCR).
News about MCR coming to Malaysia has once again trended on social media but don’t get too excited as nothing has been confirmed yet. So is the band really coming to Malaysia next year? Here’s what we know so far:
Earlier today (Tuesday, 14th November), a netizen who goes by Didi Andra posted some exciting news on Twitter regarding My Chemical Romance saying, “No more secrets. Welcome to the Black Parade. MCR will officially be back in business next year!”. The tweet has led many to believe that the American band might be performing in Kuala Lumpur in 2024.
Many were excited about the news and tweeted that they had been waiting for the announcement for so long. However, after searching for further details, there hasn’t been any official announcements from any local concert organisers about MCR coming to Malaysia. So what did the original poster actually meant when he tweeted out about MCR being back in business?
After checking MCR’s official website and social media pages, it is understood that the band will be headlining the “When We Were Young” music festival in Las Vegas in 2024. The group is set to perform the entirety of their most iconic album “The Black Parade”, which was released back in 2006. To hype things up, My Chemical Romance will be headlining the festival with Fall Out Boy.
While the original tweet led to some confusion, that hasn’t stopped fans from manifesting for MCR to perform in Malaysia. One netizen even pointed out that the band may be touring next year, so let’s hope that Hello Universe will keep their promise in bringing the iconic rock band to our shores. We’re certainly looking forward to the day.
