Celebrities worldwide, including the ones in our home country, have been spoking up about the disaster that’s been going on in Palestine and many have shown support for Palestinians against their oppressors. Influencer Ameera Khan even expressed her anger towards certain political individuals who did not vote for a ceasefire in Gaza.
While the local model has been very vocal about the war, it appears that she might have missed a big issue related to it that happened recently. Here’s why netizens were not happy about the recent photos she posted on her official Instagram:
Earlier this week, Ameera Khan posted a carousel post of some of her beauty products from fashion brand Dior. However, the post was not well received by netizens as the brand is actually one of the brands listed to be boycotted. For context, supermodel Bella Hadid made a political statement about how she stands with the people of Palestine during these trying times.
Being half Palestinian herself, the celebrity said she’s not afraid about losing her job if it means saving her people. Allegedly due to her pro-Palestine stance, it was said that Bella lost her position as Dior’s ambassador and was replaced by Israeli model May Tager. Since then, many have decided to boycott the fashion brand in support of Palestine.
This is why netizens have been slamming Ameera Khan for not being aware of the situation and demanding she remove the post. A few tagged the public figure’s sister Neelofa to knock some sense into her while others tried to not jump to conclusions and assumed that she probably signed a contract with Dior to promote their products.
It’s already been a few days and Ameera Khan has yet to remove the carousel post from her Instagram despite the overwhelming backlash. She did, however, disable her comments section on that specific post so it’s most likely that she’s already been made aware of the issue. Will she properly address the situation later? One can only hope so.
