In a shocking case coming out of China, authorities have discovered the body of the Chinese influencer who went missing last August. Luo Da Mei (罗大美) is a well-known male influencer with millions of followers on various social media platforms. He was known for his cross-dressing videos, where he dressed in traditional Chinese outfits.
According to news reports, Luo went missing in early July. He had told his family members he was heading somewhere and asked them not to contact him. However, relatives did not hear from him for an entire month, prompting them to report the case to authorities. During their investigations, police discovered that Luo had transferred 2 million yuan (approximately RM1.3 million) from his bank account.
In early September, police received a report that Luo’s car was spotted in Nanzhao County, Nanyang City, in Henan Province. Police then searched the area for the missing public figure, where they discovered Luo’s body, hidden in a sweet potato cellar. Police have determined that Luo was kidnapped between 6th and 7th July and subsequently murdered.
Authorities have identified three individuals as the main suspects in the case. All three suspects are Luo’s acquaintances and are believed to have extorted a large amount of money from the influencer, then killed him and hid his body. While there was no potential motive, netizens believe the murder happened out of jealousy for the influencer’s fame and wealth.
Besides his videos cross-dressing videos, the public figure is also known for his lucrative skincare and beauty product business. However, family members say he was always humble and often made donations of disaster relief aid to victims. His death has also led netizens to warn about the dangers of showing off on social media. However, others argue that someone flexing their wealth shouldn’t justify murder.
The case is still under investigation but we hope Luo Da Mei’s murderer will be punished for their horrible actions.
