How would you react if you stumbled upon a handwritten note by your favourite idol? Freak out. Try to calm down. Fail. Freak out again. That’s probably what happened when William Seng and his group of friends found a handwritten letter by BTS member V (aka Kim Tae Hyung, 김태형).
For context, Malaysian influencer couple William and girlfriend Celine Chan had been exploring South Korea over the past week. Naturally, a trip to Korea wouldn’t be complete without K-pop on the agenda and there’s no bigger pop phenomenon than BTS.
If you’re an ARMY or K-pop fan, then you’re probably aware that Jumunjin Beach is a hotspot for being the location where BTS shot their “You Never Walk Alone” album and also the music video for “Spring Day”. The 23-year-old content creator was exploring the area after snapping photos at the BTS Bus Stop when he noticed a commotion happening not too far away.
It was a surreal moment when William and the group unboxed the album to check out the content inside. The “Layover” album box included a CD, large poster and 2 handwritten letters from V (뷔) himself. Of course, netizens later pointed out that V’s personal notes come with the album. Having said that, it’s still exciting to find a free album that was recently released.
To summarise V’s heartfelt letter, the 27-year-old singer recounted when he made his debut in BTS and releasing his solo debut on the 10th year into his career. The K-pop star apologised “Layover” took so long to launch as he wanted this labour of love to be as perfect as it can be.
V also reflected on how much he has grown as an artiste and a person. He promised fans that he will continue to sing, dance and make more music. This is just the beginning of more to come. Aw…
In addition, Celine Chan also shared some insight into her love story with William, using the BTS bus stop as a prop. Watch the lovey-dovey video here:
