Actress Gaile Lok (乐基儿) isn’t known for having an easy love life. Although she once married artist Leon Lai (黎明), one of Hong Kong’s “Four Heavenly Kings”, they soon divorced in 2012. And it seems, her second marriage to food industry tycoon Ian Chu (朱智豪) didn’t work out either.
Gaile Lok and Ian Chu tied the knot in 2017, and the couple had a son, Hunter, together but, earlier this year, Gaile implied that she and Ian were no longer together. It wasn’t until recently that the actress opted to open up about the separation.

On 27th February, Gaile Lok posted a series of photos, featuring herself and Hunter but Ian was nowhere to be found. “Time is precious when you co-parent,” she captioned. However, she turned off the comments, ensuring no one could question her about her decision.
While many understood her request for space, it seems the actress finally deemed herself ready to speak about the matter during a recent event. On 10th September, she was asked about her marital status during an event. Gaile shared that both she and Ian had agreed to separate and are currently in joint custody of Hunter.
“The most important thing is that both (his) mother and father love him very much,” Gaile reportedly said. When asked about the reason why they divorced, Gaile declined to comment but she did emphasize that it was not because of a third party. “In fact, you can’t blame anything, the point is to be happy,” she added.

Gaile Lok also shared that although she would be filming for commercials, she would also be spending time taking care of her son while travelling between Hong Kong the US and Indonesia. The actress reportedly promised to video call her son every day, regardless of her packed schedule.
Previously, Gaile Lok and Leon Lai had divorced after four years of marriage, allegedly due to a difference in their life philosophies. And it seems she could not find happiness with Ian Chu either. Still, we wish her and Ian well and hope the former couple and Hunter will still live fulfilling lives.
