How many times have you come across Tweets of NGL submissions where those who claimed to be university fresh graduates are earning more than RM5K at their current job? Many have questioned the legitimacy of these submissions wondering how these fresh grads can earn so much money.

There is a possibility that some of these submissions may have been faked but one anonymous recruiter decided to share some insights on why it might not actually be impossible. Here’s what they said:

Yesterday (Thursday, 7th September) blogger and financial activist, Suraya shared an NGL submission from an anonymous user on Twitter who claimed to be a recruiter. In the submission, the user wanted to address doubts regarding the legitimacy of submissions from fresh graduates who claimed to be earning RM5K or more per month.

As a recruiter handling multiple entry-level positions, they pointed out that it’s very possible for these new employees to earn that much. One factor that has helped these candidates to land a good-paying job is their communication skills. “They’re always ready, confident and enthusiastic during interviews. They answer questions well,” they wrote.

Another possibility of how these new recruits can earn such a high salary is the internship role they had in a related field which can be extremely helpful when applying for jobs. The anonymous user shared that many selected candidates are from overseas or are Malaysian foreign university graduates or those from local private universities such as Taylors, Sunway, UTAR and UTP.

However, because of this factor, the recruiter questioned if there is a flaw in local public universities, claiming that some companies have banned or blacklisted applicants from certain institutes. The post went viral with many agreeing with the NGL submission.

Some said that communication skills are definitely important when applying for jobs while others concurred with the claim that some companies have blacklisted certain local universities due to poor performance of their students during their internships.

Do you agree with these claims? Share with us your thoughts on this topic.
