It’s unfortunate how a planned relaxing holiday can sometimes turn out to be a disaster. Influencers Norreen Iman and Bella Khann previously exposed the terrible conditions of an island resort in Johor during their holiday last month.
It looks like celebrity doctor Dr. Malar Santhi is doing the same as she publicly called out a travel agency as well as the resort she stayed in for their incompetent services. Here’s what happened:
Over the weekend, Dr. Malar Santhi posted on her Instagram to share her horrible holiday experience at Pulau Redang, Terengganu. She started her post by warning others to avoid booking their trips through the QNM Holidays travel agency. “The responses were incredibly slow. They wouldn’t reply for days, not even answering our phone calls. When I call using a different number, they’ll pick up! Why must we be the ones chasing them?” she captioned.
The medical practitioner also argued with the agency after they asked for an extra RM400 payment. “It’s not that I can’t afford to pay but we’ve already made reservations long ago so why was this not mentioned before?” she wrote. Things only went downhill from there. Once the doctor and her family arrived to take the boat ride to their resort, they were told by a resort staff that the agency had yet to pay for their stay, thus she had to endure another roadblock.
The public figure was even more furious when the agent did not answer her calls but thankfully, the matter was resolved after her husband intervened. However, the nightmare did not end there. During their stay at Redang Holiday Resort, Dr. Malar complained that there were no housekeeping services provided despite her paying thousands for the trip. “We’re here on holiday to rest yet I had to do all the cleaning and washing,” she wrote.
The influencer also listed down several other disappointing factors with the resort such as dirty water, no TV, no phone in the room to call the reception desk, no toiletries provided, no mineral water provided and terrible hotel food. Since there was no housekeeping service, the doctor also had to walk all the way to the reception desk to exchange the dirty towels for clean ones.
After sharing the nightmare she endured, many thanked Dr. Malar for her honest review and for exposing QNM Holidays travel agency as well as Redang Holiday Resort. Some even concurred with the TikToker’s review by sharing their similar experiences with the agency and resort.
At the time of writing, neither QNM Holidays nor Redang Holiday Resort released a statement regarding the allegations made by Dr. Malar. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens next.
