E-hailing drivers have to deal with all sorts of passengers during their shift, from the ones who practically bathe in perfume to those that get physical when things don’t go their way. Unfortunately, drivers also have to deal with scammers – like this man in Klang.
Shared through Facebook, this inDrive driver exposed a male passenger in Klang for being a scammer. Ahmad said he had previously picked up the Sabahan, but the man fled without paying during the last ride. As he had experienced being cheated by the man, the driver decided to lower the front seat once the man got in the car so he could get a clearer image with his dashcam.

In his Facebook post, Ahmad included a screenshot of the man’s face and the dashcam footage of the ride. As shown in the video, the man had asked his driver to lend him RM100, “promising” to pay him back once they reached the destination. The e-hailing employee even asked the man if he had money to pay for the ride, to which he said yes. Feeling uneasy about the interaction, Ahmad decided to instead drive to the nearest police station, hoping to get the scammer arrested.
Shockingly, when the passenger realised they were driving into a police station, he jumped out of the moving car. Unfortunately, Ahmad could not catch him in time as he was too quick, so he was able to flee the scene. In the Facebook post, Ahmad warned other e-hailing drivers to be wary of the man in the future. It is unknown if the driver had lodged a police report on the passenger – but his quick thinking did make it easier for people to recognise the scammer.
A few who saw Ahmad’s post actually did – even exposing his Facebook profile. One person added that he’s a seasoned scammer, saying he had previously used their Grab app to book a ride and fled without paying, leading to the person getting blocked. Many other comments condemned the man’s action and said he brought shame to Sabahans.

With evidence as solid as this, we’re sure it’ll ease the authorities’ job to take action on the man so he won’t continue cheating people.
