Grab drivers seem to have a pretty easy going job, but as with any job involving customers, there’s always gonna be quirky ones. Take this lady for instance. Apparently, she was upset enough to attempt to physically assault a Grab driver for refusing to run errands for the lady at a nearby petrol station!
A video has recently been circulating on the internet, reportedly via Facebook, showing a lady shouting at a Grab driver for not following her instructions. Apparently, she had ordered a Grab for her child, but also demanded the driver stop by a petrol station to buy some items. Unfortunately, she didn’t take the rejection of her request well.
The woman had allegedly ordered a Grab to pick her child up from school. However, she supposedly made a request, asking the driver to make a stop at a nearby gas station to buy some things for her. Needless to say, the driver refused the request. The woman was furious when she discovered the driver had ignored her demand.
When the driver dropped the child off at his house, his mother could allegedly be heard starting her tirade at the driver. She demanded to know why the driver hadn’t stopped at the station, saying she had told the driver to do so before dropping her child off. “Take me now!” she snapped at the driver, steamrolling the other’s explanations. “We are the ones paying, you are just a driver!”
Despite the driver politely attempting to diffuse the situation, she kept scolding the driver, wanting to know why she hadn’t done as asked. She also blatantly refused to pay unless the driver took her to the gas station, to which the driver said: “It’s okay if you don’t pay. Just close the door, please.” In another clip, the lady was spotted grabbing the driver’s phone, and could allegedly be heard banging on the car in anger several times during the video.
The incident supposedly took place in a residential area in Miri, Sarawak. However, the date and time of the event remains unknown. Still, netizens were quick to condemn the woman for her entitled behaviour. Several called her out for being unreasonable and aggressive. Others advised the Grab driver to contact the police.
Well, we sincerely hope the Grab driver is doing well after the incident. It can’t have been easy, keeping her cool in the face of being yelled at. On the bright side, not all customers are bad, like this driver who scored a job thanks to someone asking for his resume. We sincerely hope she gets nicer customers in the future!
