A few months ago, a horrifying accident occurred on the Second Penang Bridge involving a lorry, and a car with the latter being almost completely destroyed from the impact.
While this latest accident was not as horrible, it was still terrifying to witness as this motorcyclist and his passenger had a near-death experience after crashing on the First Penang Bridge. Watch:

Yesterday (Tuesday, 8th August), a video was posted on the MyNewsHub Twitter page that showed a terrifying incident that happened on the First Penang Bridge earlier the same day. A dashcam recording showed two motorcyclists taking the emergency lanes on the left side of the road with the second rider having a passenger sitting behind him.
The second motorcyclist can be seen trying to overtake the first one but somehow lost control of their vehicle. Possibly having trouble with the brakes, the motorcyclist went a little too fast to the left and crashed into the barricade, causing him and his passenger to go over the barricade after being thrown off the motorcycle.
The terrifying sight would have had anyone in shock but thankfully, as the dashcam owner drove closer, it was shown that the two survived the ordeal as there was still a platform on the other side of the barricade. While there were no updates on the individuals’ physical conditions, we can assume that they would’ve at most sustained only minor injuries from that accident.

The video went viral all over social media with netizens being relieved that the rider and his friend did not fall off the bridge. One claimed to have witnessed the accident and said that the motorcyclist lost control due to the slippery road from the rain earlier that day. While some were glad that the two survived, they also criticised them for riding the motorcycle too fast.
Whether it’s the case of reckless driving/riding or a slippery road, we’re glad that the motorcyclist and his passenger only walked away with just a damaged motorcycle.
