Traffic laws exist to ensure the safety of road users yet many irresponsible drivers and motorcyclists still choose to disobey them for selfish reasons. Previously, we’ve had drivers recklessly overtaking other cars on a highway, and prior to that, a delivery rider was caught doing a dangerous stunt on his motorcycle.
Texting while driving is also against the law but sadly this food delivery rider had his eyes glued to his phone that he failed to notice what was in front of him. Watch what happened:
Mana tak eksiden….

Earlier this week, a video of a minor road accident has been circulating on social media. As seen in the post above, the incident occurred in front of the Plaza IMBI Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The video of a dashcam recording showed a driver slowly approaching the other vehicles in front that stopped, waiting for the traffic light to turn green.
Suddenly, a Grab rider can be seen coming from the right lane carelessly riding his motorcycle while sitting cross-legged and using his phone. Unfortunately for the rider, he failed to notice the red car in front of him since his eyes were glued to his device, causing him to crash into the vehicle as he couldn’t hit the brakes in time.
The rider fell off his bike upon collision but thankfully, the blue car on the right side lane slowed down to avoid running over the Grab employee. The red car’s owner can be seen signalling to park his car on the left side of the road to assess the situation while the driver in the blue car helped the rider get back up.
Netizens reacted to the viral video with most condemning the rider for his irresponsible behaviour and for causing a lot of inconvenience to other road users. Others tagged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Grab Malaysia to take further action against the rider.
The e-hailing company responded to netizens’ concerns asking for more details so they can look into the issue. At the time of writing, there have been no updates on the rider’s current status. Let’s hope that things will be settled as soon as possible.
