Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events!
We glowed over UNIQLO’s F/W line, flipped out over Samsung’s latest gadgets, lost our wig over L’Oréal’s hair show, fulfilled our longing for Longines’ Conquest Collection, and MUCH, MUCH MORE! Let’s Get Lucky With Coach
We ‘got lucky’ with the newly-launched Coach Green fragrance, as we were among the first to get a whiff of it at its debut event! Inspired by the rich, earthy hues of nature and Coach leathercraft, this new scent exudes a relaxing feeling that blends with the dynamic energy of the city. The vivid green bottle also features an engraved Horse and Carriage – a nod to Coach’s first-ever house symbol.
In conjunction with Coach Green’s debut, the fashion house launched the “Let’s Get Lucky” roadshow, with a carnival-inspired theme, at Suria KLCC’s Centre Court. We were there and were able to explore Coach’s Fragrance collection, as well as take part in mini-games, and enjoy special treats such as popcorn and cotton candy. Check out what happened below:

Longines’ Conquest Collection Returns
The Longines Conquest is special for many reasons, including being the first collection to be registered in 1954. The new look has a more colourful design and exudes a sporty elegance. During the exclusive preview at Suria KLCC, we caught up with actor-singer Alvin Chong and TV host Chrystina Ng, who shared what they love most about the new Longines Conquest timepiece. Alvin had chosen to wear the Longines Conquest 2023 41mm blue dial model to match his all-white ensemble; while Chrystina gushed about her Longines Conquest 2023 34mm green dial diamond index steel bracelet and it’s versatility as it suits her everyday life.
For the 34mm version, diamond hour markers, doubled at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock, mark the hours on the blue and green dials. The white mother-of-pearl dial is enhanced by a bezel set with 48 diamonds. Two other variants, silver or light bronze with sleek hour markers, are also available. The 41mm models, also equipped with a date window, are available in a wide array of colourful dials such as bronze, silver, blue, black and green.

L’Oréal Professionnel iNOA Hair Show
L’Oréal Professionnel recently celebrated iNOA’s latest formulation and hair tech with the biggest hair show event ever, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre – and we were front and centre. The event was L’Oreal’s first-ever cross-country hair show between Malaysia and Singapore, with 2,000 invited guests at a physical event at KLCC, a live watch party in Singapore, as well as on ACCESS, L’Oreal’s online learning hub for salon professionals.
It was also L’Oréal Professionnel’s first time joining forces with 6 Malaysian and 3 Singaporean L’Oréal Professionnel Artistic Ambassadors, as well as 4 Malaysian iD Artists, with 48 live models showcasing the many inspirations of iNOA hair coloration. The concepts displayed were Urban Rebel (combining elements of streetwear, punk and grunge to create a bold and edgy street fashion style); Dark Enigma (an edgy and captivating fashion aesthetic that celebrates the power of the colour black); and Futuristic Fusion (a fashion aesthetic that combines elements of futurism, technology, and innovation).
Throughout the event journey, guests were enlightened on L’Oréal Professionnel’s goals as a pioneering beauty hair tech brand, as well as its sustainability and community efforts.

MIFFest’s BMW Shorties Top 10 Finalists
If you love movies and are an aspiring filmmaker, then you must’ve heard of the BMW Shorties contest. The recent launch of BMW Shorties 2023 kicked-off a week of thrilling festivities leading up to the Awards Night, and featured a range of exciting, on-ground activities in collaboration with the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest), with the public being invited to actively participate in the celebrations.
Countless young talents submitted their works of art, and 10 creatives were nominated and had their movies debut on the big screen. We got the chance to see these amazing local products at GSC MyTOWN – and they made us cry, laugh and feel all kinds of emotions.

The Flip Side With Samsung Galaxy Unpacked
Who doesn’t love new tech? We had a fun time watching the official Samsung live stream, that was held in Seoul, South Korea, of the brand’s newest additions to the Galaxy family! In addition to the good music, food, and a fashion show featuring the latest gadgets, we were among the first to touch and experience the all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Watch6 Classic, Galaxy Watch6, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9 Plus.

Mooncake Workshop @ Oversea Restaurant
Oversea Restaurant recently held a fun, snow-skin mooncake workshop at their Jalan Imbi branch, where we and other members of the media and influencers got to try our hand at making mooncakes with matcha and black sesame skins! The process was surprisingly easy, since the ingredients were already prepared and on display. All we had to do was take an ample amount of dough, mix it with edible flour so that it didn’t stick, roll it nice and flat, before wrapping the yolk with the snow-skin paste.
Following that, we were treated to an exquisite lunch of Cantonese cuisine. The highlight was, hands down, the Moonlight Swirl, the Mid-Autumn equivalent of yee sang. Instead of the usual raw fish or seafood, the Moonlight Swirl features roast duck and lotus seeds, mixed with fresh vegetables, fruits, olive oil, peanut sauce and plum sauce. Steamed wraps were provided, allowing us to wrap the ingredients together in a spring roll or pancake form to build-up a burst of flavours. Available only during this festive season, customers are advised to make bookings in advance, as this is usually a best seller!

Foodpanda & SugarBuns’s Lak Lak Chicken Challenge
Could you eat 20 spicy fried chicken pieces in 8 minutes or less? We’re not entirely sure about it ourselves – nevertheless, we recently joined some brave individuals in the Foodpanda and SugarBuns Lak Lak Chicken Challenge and took on the task of doing just that!
While no one could manage to eat 20 chicken pieces in one go, there was certainly a winner who walked away with RM5,000! Good on them! Anyway, the new Lak Lak Chicken is a special variety of spicy fried chicken which caters to distinct Asian tastes – and we can definitely confirm that the new recipe torched our tongues. UNIQLO Fall/Winter 2023 Preview
We were at an exclusive preview of the upcoming UNIQLO Fall/Winter 2023 collection, and we were stoked. Held at JioSpace, the showcase gave us a look at what the Japanese fashion brand has for the coming season. This year, the collection focuses on modern layering, combining stylish pieces with functional items. Included in the showcase was a section dedicated to the brand’s HEATTECH line, a staple to the brand’s F/W collections for two decades.
We also previewed a new service coming soon for the brand’s RE.UNIQLO initiative – Sachiko, a traditional Japanese stitching technique, that combines function and decoration. The UNIQLO F/W2023 collection will be available starting in August at UNIQLO stores nationwide.

Love, Bonito ‘Best Of The Best’ Preview
We had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of Love, Bonito’s upcoming ‘Best of the Best’ collection, featuring 13 curated pieces of the brand’s most loved styles, to celebrate the brand’s 13th anniversary. During the event at Fahrenheit88, we listened to Love, Bonito Country Director Joan Yeoh speak about the inspiration behind the collection.
The preview featured a fabulous cross-styling between Love, Bonito and homegrown brand KANOE, plus an introduction to the pieces by KANOE founder Noelle Kan and fashion stylist Andrea Kee. Love, Bonito’s ‘Best of the Best’ collection will be available to the public starting 4th August.

Tokyo Street’s 12th Anniversary
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s famed Tokyo Street has been a shopping and tourism hotspot for 12 years now! So it was a delight when we got the opportunity to attend its 12th anniversary celebration, earlier this week! Tokyo Street was imbued with Japan’s vibrant culture for the festivities, with the theme this year being Harajuku Kawaii.
Officiated by His Excellency Mr. Takahashi Katsuhiko, the Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia; and his wife, Madam Takahashi Mami, the event featured a Yukata Parade from SEGI University students, a traditional, lively Wadaiko drum performance, and of course, a Kagami Biraki sake-breaking ceremony conducted by the esteemed guests of honour. International cosplayer KNITE was also present to bedazzle us, adding flair to the ceremony.
