Local Woman Claims Users End Up Paying More With The GrabUnlimited Plan

If you’re a Grab user, you’re probably subscribed to the GrabUnlimited membership plan, which allows you to enjoy lower delivery prices and a variety of extra benefits in exchange for a small monthly fee (RM4.90).

However, one user was infuriated when she found that she had to “pay more to pay even more”. The local woman, who goes by the handle “Angel”, took to Facebook to vent her frustrations after discovering that her subscription was costing her extra money!

According to her post, Angel shared that she is a frequent user of food delivery services, including GrabFood. She opted to subscribe to the GrabUnlimited plan as it offered a number of benefits, including free or discounted delivery fees, plus discounts at selected restaurants.

“Since I’m using GrabFood regularly, I decided to subscribe this plan. I’ve ordered a few times after subscribing, and then I realised the delivery (fee) was increased quite a bit, but I give the benefit of doubt that maybe it was due to peak hours. Until I compared the price and the delivery fee with my husband’s Grab account (who is a non-subscriber). I realised how Grab had ‘robbed’ their regular customers in broad daylight,” the woman wrote in her post. Angel also expressed that she felt cheated by the company following the incident.

After her post went viral, Angel revealed that Grab has reached out to her regarding the matter. According to the company’s response, they claimed that the discrepancy was caused by a glitch, causing the device to display the delivery time of an earlier order. They further explained that the glitch is not related to whether one is a GrabUnlimited member or not.
