Normally, when something negative happens to a celebrity or an influencer, like a terrible rumour or scandal, they’ll often go out of their way to address the issue before it spirals out of control. However, there are people who’d rather keep these things as skeletons in the closet. But what would you do if those skeletons were accusations of you being a paedophile? And you only address them TWO YEARS after the fact?
This is what Deyione Scott-Wilson Eason, better known as EDP445 (short for EatDatPussy445), had to do just recently. Known for his unapologetic nature in creating videos, his grim sense of humour on YouTube is what attracts people to watch his content, be it unboxings, rants, reviews, or reactions. His behaviour often garnered some interest from those who are well-versed with the darker side of the internet, but no brand or label would stick to him until July 2020.

In July 2020, rumours of disrespectful and sexual conversations EDP445 had with minors began to surface. In one, Deyione claims that he’d love to be a 16-year-old girl’s boyfriend and help him get off; in another message, Deyione requests a picture of a 15-year-old user’s breast as payment for his services on the chat, disregarding the receiver’s age. In that same month, he made a video about the allegations, disregarding them as a joke and going so far as to claim that a bunch of “Karens” or groups of them were trying to take him down.
Following several leaked messages and videos that catalogued his behaviour, Deyione was able to slip past suspicion and repeat these acts. That was until April 2021, when two YouTubers who specialise in hunting paedophiles, named Alex Rosen and CC UNIT, recorded an interaction with Deyione. It was through this that they obtained conclusive evidence: explicit images of Deyione’s penis and faecal matter, among other things, sent by Deyione himself, that Alex acquired from a decoy 13-year-old girl.

This was later known as the “Cupcake Scandal” due to Deyione’s excuse of being in the organised meeting area for some cupcakes. His YouTube account, which has two million subscribers, was subsequently deleted amidst the scandal to save face, but he would never recover.
On Friday, 7th July, two years after the scandal, Deyione finally released an apology video, addressing his past actions and taking responsibility for them. Though he has not lost his vulgar tongue, many see this as a genuine apology. He largely talked about his life while trying to move past the scandal, and he admitted to having suicidal thoughts and almost attempting to commit suicide throughout this time. He also admitted that he has taken the proper and appropriate measures in his search for professional help to better himself in the future.

“For the longest of time, I’ve been talking to different lawyers, trying to get an understanding of what to say and what not to say,” he said when he addressed the delay between the incident and the apology video.
“…I’ve done everything I can to apologise to my friends, to my family, to the ones that were hurt the most,” he added.
The internet has been abuzz since Deiyone finally broke his silence, but the damage has been done. His YouTube channel and all his subscribers cannot be retrieved, and the same can be said for the forgiveness of all the people he knew or watched his videos.
