Clothes sometimes go missing. That’s normal. But when specific clothing items go missing, it might be time to get suspicious. After all, a panty thief might be in the neighbourhood!
Recently, police received a report from a Petaling Garden resident about a suspicious man. To their surprise, upon detaining the man, they discovered a stash of underwear in the man’s bag. Needless to say, his haul was quite the shock!
On 12th June, Brickfields Police received a report from a 36-year-old resident living at Petaling Garden. Apparently, they had spotted a man in the area acting suspiciously. They noticed the man staring at clothes hanging outside their house. Thinking something was off, they followed the man to a nearby neighbour’s house and confirming their suspicions, made a call to the police.
The officers arrived and arrested the 45-year-old man. Upon searching his bag, they discovered a total of 25 pieces of women’s underwear. The suspect later confessed that to deal with his urges, he went to three different houses to steal women’s underwear.
Police confirmed that the panty thief had 9 prior convictions involving theft and drugs. He was later charged in court on 13th June under Section 379 of the Penal Code. He reportedly pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
Well, thank goodness for that resident who had sharp eyes! Otherwise, we’re certain more women would have noticed their underwear going missing. Kudos to them for catching the panty thief in action!
