There have been too many road accidents lately. Recently, a horrific accident occurred on the Second Penang Bridge involving a lorry and car where the latter was almost completely destroyed from the impact. This accident looked like it came straight out of a horror movie.
Following that scary incident, another accident that occurred on a highway is giving us “Final Destination” vibes. It’s alarming to see that the driver almost got impaled by a piece of scrap metal. Here’s what happened:
Yesterday (Monday, 15th May) a netizen who goes by @btsvtboys on Twitter shared with her followers that she was involved in an accident on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) around 6:40pm. The photos she posted showed how a long metal rod broke through her car’s windshield after it fell off a lorry.
“One of the lorries in front of me didn’t properly secure their tarps and a piece of scrap metal came flying through my car. Luckily, I didn’t get hurt while driving,” she tweeted. As seen in the photos above, the metal rod didn’t go all the way through the windshield glass nor was it close to the driver’s seat. It can be assumed there was also no one in the passenger seat during the incident.
Unfortunately for the driver, her car was not equipped with a dashcam. As such, she was unable to identify the lorry that was carrying the unsecured cargo. The tweet garnered attention from netizens who commented how the accident reminded them of the “Final Destination” movies. Many were also glad that the driver was not injured when it happened.
A few offered @btsvtboys some tips on how to deal with the situation while others tagged Minister of Transport Anthony Loke for better road safety enforcement. At the time of writing, there has been no update from the driver about her predicament but we can only imagine how traumatised she is after this incident.
Perhaps now would be a good time to invest in a dashcam to make it easier to catch and report anything that occurs on the road. Stay safe and vigilant everyone.
