It can be quite infuriating when the food you order does not turn out the way you expected. Some customers have complained about their food not being prepared well while others have found dangerous items in their meals.
We can only imagine the frustration this man felt when he got a pitiful portion of the food he ordered at a popular cafe. Here’s what happened:
Yesterday (Tuesday, 9th May), Facebook user who goes by Ernie Chen posted a set of photos on his profile to share his recent experience of dining at an OldTown White Coffee outlet. The man had apparently ordered the Butter & Kaya Toast and much to his disappointment, the toasted sandwich was served with 2 extremely thin slices of butter and the kaya spread on only 1 bread.
“Why does OldTown even still exist? this is called No Brain Butter Kaya Toast! Bye for LIFE OldTown!” he wrote at the end of his post. The chairman of PORTMAN College Malaysia criticised the establishment for no longer being able to provide what the customers want in comparison to its competitors like Oriental Kopitiam.
The frustrated customer mentioned how disappointed he was as OldTown used to serve better food when it first came onto the F&B scene. Apparently, Ernie wasn’t the only one who experienced this. After his post went viral, many netizens share that they too have been disappointed by OldTown’s declining quality.
At the time of writing, OldTown White Coffee has yet to release a statement regarding the customer’s viral post. Let’s hope the brand will make improvements so that no other customer will have to face this problem again.
Update (11th May):
After going viral, OldTown White Coffee has reportedly responded to the issue. According to China Press, they will be taking active measures to resolve the matter, and will not be ignoring comments from netizens. “We will make improvements based on suggestions made by netizens about our products and services to meet (our) customers expectations,” they allegedly told China Press.
