It’s common for entrepreneurs to open up physical stores when expanding their brand but sometimes things don’t always go as planned. After announcing that he’ll be closing down his brand’s physical store earlier this month, entrepreneur and influencer Ceddy Ang gave his followers an update on what is to come.
If you remember, Ceddy recently backed up a vendor’s claims that the Malaysia Grand Bazaar (MGB) – which is located near Lalaport BBCC – is basically deserted after being unable to make any sales for some time now. Due to this, the public figure decided to close down his Owlet Beauty brand’s physical store at the premise this month.
Today we had to shut down our perfume PHYSICAL STORE in Malaysia Grand Bazar, we decided to have one there thinking there’s potential (rental pun wasn’t that bad sebab new mall kan?)
But as time goes by, we see more shops closing (some business owners told us the place is… pic.twitter.com/HNdxc5g6qk

Yesterday (Thursday, 27th April), the food reviewer officially updated the store’s closure. “We decided to have one at MGB thinking there’s potential but as time goes by, we see more shops closing,” he tweeted. The entrepreneur claimed that other business owners told him and his staff that the location apparently has bad Feng Shui because it used to be a prison.
So what’s next for the Owlet Beauty founder? Ceddy previously mentioned that most of his brand revenues came from online stores such as Shopee or TikTok and so with this in mind, he tweeted that the company will be moving forward with and focusing on its digital sales. “We will be focusing on Shopee, TikTok shop and also opening more pop-ups [stores],” said the internet celebrity.
It’s a shame that Owlet Beauty’s first physical store had to close so soon. But hey, at least patrons can easily get the awesome products online 😉
