A few days ago, influencer-entrepreneur View Chin was called out by his wife, Shermine Hau for allegedly cheating on her. It was also revealed that he had physically abused his wife, much to the horror of netizens. A former employee of View spoke up too, claiming he was a terrible boss in addition to being a terrible husband.
The influencer recently came forward to address the issue and to explain his side of the story. View Chin claimed that someone had cheated, but it wasn’t him. Instead, he alleged his wife was the cheater! Additionally, he added that they have already divorced and View actually hopes to marry his staff member, Mira.
View Chin held an interview with China Press yesterday (18th April) to clarify the allegations. The 33-year-old denied having cheated on his wife of eight years, instead, insisting she had been the one to betray him first. View claims that he had put his career first in order to ensure Shermine and kids were well looked after. But this apparently backfired on him.
According to View, he had first discovered Shermine cheating on him three years ago, sometime during the MCO. View claimed Shermine had a habit of visiting night clubs with her friends to have fun, which he was initially fine with. However, things changed when he saw that she had received a message from a stranger saying: “Baby, what are you doing?”
“She didn’t admit it, but I had a hunch that this stranger was (someone she was flirting with),” View Chan said. He initially forgave her, prioritizing the peace of his family, but claimed he could no longer ignore it when his wife received another message on her birthday, 1st August, last year. The simple birthday message incensed him and View allegedly started questioning Shermine about it. She then supposedly admitted to cheating on him.
Shermine reportedly told View Chin she had felt neglected as he had been overly focused on his career. View shared that this had shocked him as he had allegedly been doing so to ensure she and the kids could live a life of luxury. However, he then decided the best course of action was to divorce her. Still, it seems this was after he “pushed her down in a fit of anger“.
The influencer did admit to beating his wife. The first supposedly occurred a few years ago, allegedly over a work conflict. View Chin claimed that incident had been the video which had gone viral. The second, was over Shermine’s alleged cheating. However, View claimed that the video had been edited and reportedly asked the uploader to publish the full video.
“I chose to remain silent at first, because I didn’t want my private affairs to affect my children,” View Chin stated, apologising for the issue. “But the (problem) has spread beyond my expectations.” View reportedly believes the allegations made by Shermine against him were a ploy to regain custody of their kids after they supposedly divorced in December 2022.
View claimed that Shermine had not wanted a divorce and had tried to salvage their marriage. But, View Chin had been firm about his decision. He also reportedly won custody of their three kids, but claims he did not restrict Shermine from meeting them, nor did he kick her out of the house. But, it seems Shermine took the kids and some furniture and moved out last week without View’s knowledge. She has not been contactable since.
The influencer claims the only time they spoke was when he managed to reach her after she left. She reportedly had several demands for View Chin, such as recording a video admitting he cheated on her, firing Mira, transferring the company and shares, giving up custody rights, unconditionally paying alimony and more. View claims she deleted these demands after he requested to talk to her about it, adding her family too has no clue what’s happening.
View Chin has also defended his relationship with his staff member, Mira. He claims they are close, and she knows quite a bit about his affairs. “Because Mira and I are co-workers, I have disclosed my marital status to her, and she also understands my business situation. She understands my struggles,” he told China Press. But View denied a few allegations made against Mira, such as gifting her a luxury car, or having a tryst with her.
View Chin claims he had kept their divorce quiet to protect their honour. But now, it seems things have changed. “I did not cheat with Mira while I was married,” he clarified. “(But) now that I’m single again, I plan to marry her!” The influencer claims that Mira is a capable staff member and a team member who had helped him a lot. “She’s a hardworking girl. I quite admire her, and I don’t deny that I have a crush on her,” View admitted.
However, Shermine later uploaded a post on her Facebook, refuting View Chin’s claims. Shermine claimed she had no time to cheat on View, in between looking after their newborn child, kids and juggling her work. “People who know me know that I (went quiet on socials) last year,” she said, adding that she was inviting China Press to talk to her too. But View himself has reportedly appealed to Shermine, hoping to resolve the issue peacefully.
Well, that is certainly one messy relationship. On our end, we certainly hope Shermine and the kids are safe. As for the rift between Shermine and View Chin, we suppose the two will simply have to sort the issue out themselves. Hopefully, their kids won’t get caught in further crossfire.
