Human creativity knows no bounds – as time moves on, we develop new techniques and inventions that would benefit us personally or humanity as a whole. However, that doesn’t mean bad inventions don’t exist; they do, and there are a lot of them. However, there are certain creations that make us question if the human race is still evolving in the right direction.
Thanks to the power of the internet, humanity has the incredible luxury of becoming stupider faster. With that in mind, here are some “inventions” and design choices that make us question a lot of things about the human race as a whole.
DIY Electric Toothbrush
The idea of an electric toothbrush is actually quite an old one, with the first dating back all the way to the 1950s. However, thanks to modern technology, we can now make our own electric toothbrushes without much engineering. Simply take your toothbrush and tape it around a vibrator, and you’re good to go. Plus, once your teeth are sparkly clean, you can take them apart and let them work double duty, if you catch our drift.
Steel-Toed Crocs: The Destroyer of Shins
Have you ever found yourself just wanting to enjoy your Crocs, but people within a 20km radius are giving you judgmental stares that keep you from enjoying them, even going so far as to step on your toes? Well, now you can fight back with steel-toed Crocs! Protect your toes while remaining comfortable in this revolutionary design, and you can easily dispense some well-deserved bruised shins if they give you the side eye for your fashion choice.
Planting With Nightmares
If we were to choose what the most annoying and disturbing creature in all of fiction is, one of them would have to be the mandrake from the Harry Potter series, not only for its human-like appearance but also because of its literal killer shriek. Thankfully, these creatures only exist in the realm of fiction, but there are some people who are actively trying to bring these creatures, or at least some semblance of them, into the real world.
Though it is not the same, the repurposing of doll heads into planters is equally disturbing, as we are essentially viewing a lobotomized child whose brains have been replaced with plants. Yeah, we think it’s better to stick with the mandrake here.
Digital Kisses
COVID has become a part of human history now, for it has shaped how we live our lives and redefined what is “normal.” Crazy and drastic ideas needed to be put in place in order to accommodate our new reality: working from home was thought to be impossible until we were forced to be locked down, and even the dating scene has changed dramatically. For this part, let’s talk about the latter half, as some college students might have found the solution for LDRs.
Translated as “Long Lost Touch” in English, this device is attached to the phone, and it records the kissing style of a person before it is then transmitted to the lips on the other side of the line. If you kiss each other (or, in this case, it) long enough, it will begin to warm up, and it also makes kissing noises. Though it may seem like a prank product, the start up company has already sold 3,000 units, with 20,000 more on the way. Hopefully the updated version comes with some tongue action.

Sick of stupid drivers t-boning your car, and you having to pay for the expensive repair job? More often than not, when your car is rammed from the side, you lose. Fortunately, that doesn’t always have to be the case; with this repair job, you can both lose. This guy can repair your car, but not with a flimsy sheet of metal; he would rather opt for a more durable replacement: bricks. Sure, one side of the car might be heavier than the other, but at least you won’t be the only one in the hospital.
